Epic to offer 17 games for free in the their annual Christmas event, which starts today

Each year the Epic Games Store gives away the chance to play for free every day from now until the new year.

This year's giveaway is just beginning and it may be running a little differently at first. We've got Destiny 2 Legacy Collection which is now live and game 2 will not be unveiled until December 19. Things will be speeding up we think, with a game every day up to February 4th.

It's not common to see the Epic Game Store include the week leading up to the game in the promotion, but it also happens to coincide with the Holiday Sale that has also begun today and will be running through the 10th of January.

What games are included in the 2023 Epic giveaway?

The web is buzzing every year, trying to figure out what games will be expected to be released next. Epic typically gives vague clues with the images of its next title. This coupled with leakers makes it possible to get a decent indication of what might be coming the next time around.

The event typically features high-profile titles along with indie offerings and builds to a crescendo as the day's progress.

Epic Games 2023 free games leak - What is game 2?

So, we know Destiny 2 is the first prize, but the internet's sleuths have been working hard on trying to work out what the next game might be. Typically Epic leaves clues in the wrapping paper it uses for each game - although nobody has yet found the clue for Destiny you, which is when we know the game, so it may be the case that clues are more difficult this year than previously.

The image below is the next game and potential clue. The main thing we detect if we pay attention is a cursor on a mouse, leading to speculation that game 2 might be a click-and-click adventure. Check it out and see the things you can think of. Is that an American football?

The sale has just begun and will last until the 10 January.
